Fastway Couriers, Ireland’s leading franchise courier operator, has launched a new online product called Parcel Connect, www.parcelconnect.ie, an innovative new service that allows customers Send, Collect and Return online goods via their local shop.
Speaking at the launch of Parcel Connect Bobby O’Keeffe, CEO of Fastway Couriers commented, “Online shopping in Ireland is growing at a phenomenal rate and in particular we’ve seen a massive increase of retail sales into Ireland from the likes of Littlewoods, ASOS and Oxendales. However, barriers persist for customers around missed home deliveries and problematic and costly returns. With the introduction of Parcel Connect both sellers and buyers can now enjoy a more convenient and cost effective service.”
Parcel Connect is a new and unique service in Ireland where you can elect to have your parcels picked up from or delivered to a range of local shops, convenient for you. For this new chapter in Fastway’s journey they chose Payzone, Ireland’s largest consumer payments network, as their exclusive channel partner, and together they plan on dramatically changing how people use online shopping now and in the future. With just under 400 Payzone outlets already signed up, mainly across symbol group stores throughout the 26 counties, the plan is to reach 750 by end November 2013 and 1,000 stores by the end of January 2014.
Parcel Connect offers Send, Collect and Return options and it works as follows;
· Send – aimed at regular or once off customers who want to send a parcel. Log onto www.parcelconnect.ie, select your local store, tell us where you want it to go, print and stick your label on the parcel and drop it to your designated store, ready for onward shipping. The Send option has been available for some months under the PostPlus brand but is now available from Parcel Connect.
· Collect – when buying from any of our brands (such as ASOS, Littlewoods, Oxendales, MissGuided and Amazon) select your local store instead of your home address. Then collect at your convenience. You’ll also get a SMS text to say when it has arrived in store.
· Return – log onto www.parcelconnect.ie/returns, select the retailer you bought it from, print off your returns label and drop it into your local store. From now on all Littlewoods deliveries into Ireland will contain a Parcel Connect label in the box. Customers simply fill in their account number, go online to find the nearest store and drop it in. From here it’s scanned at the counter and the customer gets a receipt/proof of posting that they can track.
