Events Day 08 : Focus on Numbers : Conference & Showcase for People who Organise Events
NEO Ireland, the Network for Event Organisers in Ireland (www.neoireland.com) has announced that this years annual conference, Events Day 08 : Focus on Numbers, will take place on the 30th of April 2008. The conference will be held in the Ballsbridge Court Hotel, a d4 Hotel (formerly the Berkeley Court). The conference is a joint production between NEO Ireland and the Events Industry Skillnet (www.eventsindustryskillnet.com), the new training network for people involved in events.
The conference is on the theme of Numbers and will focus on case studies, tips and tricks and strategies for getting people to attend events. Topics include: "Blogging to Bring In Business"; "Is Email Marketing Effective?"; "Making an Exhibition of Yourself" and "Did You Get My Press Release?". Speakers include Terry Harmer, one of Ireland’s best imports in the world of sales training; Michael Nolan of iQuest, the organisers behind the Family Show and some of Ireland’s longest running exhibitions; Ellen Gunning, founder and managing director of the Irish Academy of Public Relations; Laura Curtin of Communicate PR & Events and Sarah Carroll, founder and managing director of Eventznet.ie, Ireland’s leading events software and e-marketing company.
Previous Events Days (in 2006 and 2007) have been attended by a wide variety of people, from marketing managers to professional events organisers to administrators of clubs and associations and banqueting managers at conference/event venues. Ciara Feely Cahalane – Director of FindAConferenceVenue.com – was one of those attending last years event, she found it so interesting and valuable that she decided to sponsor this years’ event. "Last year’s speakers were so informative and inspiring, and I learned so much about the nuts and bolts of the life of an event organiser – particularly in the technology sessions – that I decided to sponsor Events Day 08 by providing our venue finding service to the organising team. I’m looking forward to updates on how a blog can help us to bring in business and to the Making an Exhibition of Yourself session." Says Ciara, who found the networking that took place during the day last year to be invaluable to her business.
"People who organise events are often quite isolated," says Sarah Carroll, NEO Ireland founder and Managing Director. "Over 70% of all the events that are organised in Ireland are organised by people who have other primary job responsibilities and who don’t have a circle of colleagues they can bounce ideas off. NEO Ireland was founded to provide a meeting space and a market place for these people, as well as for professional events organisers and other suppliers to the events industry. Events Day 08 : Focus on Numbers will be a day packed with information and practical advise through case studies and examples as well as networking and our showcase".
