IIA ANNOUNCES JOHN O`SHEA AS INCOMING CHAIRMAN
The Irish Internet Association (IIA) has announced John O`Shea as the Association`s incoming Chairman following the associations Annual General Meeting held on Thursday 24th July 2003. John O`Shea is Commercial Director of zamano, a leading Mobile Internet service provider in the UK and Ireland, and has been working in the Internet space since 1996. John, a founding member of the IIA in 1997, has served on the Board since 2001 and has been the organisation`s Treasurer for the last 18 months. John O`Shea succeeds John Pierce as IIA Chairman.
Commenting on his election as Chairman, John states that while the technology sector still faces many challenges, the Internet has exceeded many of the most optimistic forecasts of the past, and is fundamental to a vast range of businesses. He sees the IIA`s role as being vital in ensuring that Ireland stays at the forefront of Internet development and deployment.
Other appointments to the IIA Board for 2003 were:

Patrick Tully, Irish Continental Group (Honorary Secretary).
Four new members were nominated to the 2003 IIA Board:

Barry Rhodes, LYNX ict
John Pierce, Fujitsu Services and Don McAleese, Matheson Ormsby Prentice ran for re-election and have been re-appointed to the IIA Board.
