Ireland’s public sector procurement Web site, www.etenders.gov.ie, has been revamped by the National Public Procurement Policy Unit of the Department of Finance. Since its launch in March 2001, the site has become a definitive source of information on public sector procurement advertisements and tenders. Many of the changes implemented on the site arose from suggestions made through on-line questionnaires and focus group workshops last year. The home page has been redeveloped to aid navigation; it has been divided into two distinct areas, one for awarding authorities and one for suppliers. A new “Quick Links” section aids navigation across the various areas of the site. A tender notification wizard has also been added to facilitate the publication of tender notices and prior information notices (PINs) by awarding authorities.
